That doesn’t mean you “didn’t get the job!”
What exactly does that mean?
I submitted an audition awhile back through a p2p site I use… Not long afterward, I noticed that my audition had been “listened to” and not long after that, saw that it was “working” – meaning that they’d selected another talent to move forward with the job.
No big deal. It happens. I moved on.
Fast forward a few weeks and I’m sitting at my computer on a Saturday morning, catching up on email over coffee and *pop* in comes an email from the director who originally posted the job I “didn’t get.” It read: Hi There! So you already auditioned for this gig a few weeks back. After recording with another talent, we ultimately found out we preferred your audition. Thus, we would like to re-offer the job to you!
To say I was elated is an understatement! It’s these little victories that make my job so fun. So, I went ahead and recorded the job – it’s for BIOMOD, a very cool international science competition for high school and college students. The work is in production now and when it’s complete, I’ll add it to this posting.
